Brick ages ad hijack

Anonymous
Was reading a thread (in jobs a I think) and my iPad browse got hijacked by brickages. The first ad was for something else, I closed out the window and came back and then it served me up this Walmart one.

Thanks for reporting. I mostly use an iPad to surf the site during the day so hopefully I can reproduce this and eliminate it.

I am not able to respond to threads because of this pop-up ad. When I close it, my response is gone. I have resorted to responding with very few words. - Author of Trump Country thread

Could you please walk me through exactly what is happening? When you reply, are you clicking the "reply" button and typing your reply or are you using the "quick reply" form that is below the messages? I'm trying to understand how and when this pop-up appears.

I'm on my IPhone, was reading over in the Entertainment forum and the BrickAges ad just popped up.

I am exclusively using my iPhone and iPad trying to reproduce this. So far no luck. I'll keep trying.

Cutting and pasting this response - it just did it to me again. It starts after you hit “reply” and start composing a response. I would say on the first try, it takes a couple of minutes for the pop up to come, but the more you try to go back and answer, the clock ticks down. That's why yesterday I only got in “yes, this thread” on my third attempt.

I'm on an iPad, and it just happened again.

Several days ago I stripped all the advertising code out of the reply page. There had been one ad on that page, now there are none. So, if something is causing a pop-up, it is not an ad. I have no idea what else it could me. Have you tried clearing your browser's cache (removing website data) and/or restarting the iPad? I think there must be something weird going on with your iPad.

OP here. Just happened again on my iPad while reading the thread on politics about defining rich. Tried to reply from the iPad and got redirected again before I could. Redirecting to that walmart ad again.
