| ...with your spouse/partner for 1 week to celebrate your 5th wedding anniversary (without the children), where would you go? The timeframe is April 2010. Ideally, I'd love to go somewhere neither of us has been before, but I also think Paris or Rome would be wonderful cities to share with my husband. Then I wonder whether I could really board a transatlantic flight and be so far from the children for a week (we have not been further than a 2 hour plane ride from home without the children, and we only did that once!) Where would you go??? |
| Italia |
| pp: sorry that was my Spanish, Italy |
| Argentina. If you desire a closer venue, Quebec |
| Tuscany or Corsica. I understand about not going far though. We wanted to go to Italy for our ten year anniversary but had the same feelings as you and ended up going to Napa/Sonoma. It was a wonderful trip. Still a long flight but we felt if anything happened we had more options to get home quickly. Congratulations on your five year anniversary! |
| Definitely Italy or Greece. |

I second Quebec or Montreal if you want to stay fairly close.
Spain is my next-on-the-list destination. |
| New Zealand |
| Florence |

Can you give some indication of what you like to do together. Of the top of my head I would vote for Paris - so, so romantic, easy to get to, and a week is enough time to see the city and a few day trips. Many nice destinations in Italy also..
There are many options - cruise vacations outdoors - hiking trips small beach towns in New England or North Carolina Beach villas - Carribean destination |

Miraval Resort in Tucson, but we both could really use a spa vacation right now so it has been on my mind. We went there for a long weeknd for our 10th. It is a wonderful place that is healthy yet lets you "veg" if you need to. I think some other spas are more activity driven. On the romantic side, they sometimes have couples classes about spicing up your sex life, or reconnecting, or things like that. The spa is world class and they have some other really amazing activities. A week there would not be too long - they have so many great things to do.
I have to stop typing this because I am getting more wistful about wishing I could run out the door to go with every keystroke! |

Love this question, it completely indulges my fantasies. I would go here -- always a top honeymoon suggestion -- if you want to stay somewhat close:

Let us know what you decide! |

Florence
I also really love Napa. |
| MALDIVES. My husband and I really, really want to go. Now that we have little ones, it looks like that trip will have to wait for our 15 anniversary or so. But we definitely plan on going. It looks beautiful--completely remote, beautiful white sand beaches with awesome resorts and spas. Sounds like heaven right about now. |
| We had our 5th in April and I couldn't bear to be more than a few hours from dd - it was the first time we'd left her overnight. We went to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. Gorgeous place - lots of hiking and bike trails, some historical/tourist stuff, and some very good restaurants both on the estate and in surroundign Asheville. The mountains there are just beautiful. The Inn at the Biltmore is top notch - fabulous service and very nice rooms for pretty reasonable prices. Plus there's a winery on the estate, so we spent several afternoons sitting in the sun, drinking wine, and eating cheese. It was perfect. |
