What kind of alcoholic drink is not going to pack on the pounds?

Figure I can eat or drink, so I want to drink. Wine & beer are out of the question I think. What can I order at a bar, any mixed drinks? Nothing with Diet coke, yuck.

Beer.

Nothing. All alcohol turns to sugar in the body.

Take mixed drinks off the menu, empty calories.

The correct answer is C) Exercise and moderation.

Something you can drink straight and sip. I'd think it's usually the mixers that have the calories.

Glad you won't be at the party Saturday night. I'll exercise the other 6 days of the week.

Someone said beer? Really? Would it have to be an ultra light beer?

Alcohol itself has a fair amount of calories, so whatever you drink should be limited in quantity.

You mainly want to avoid sugary mixers. Maybe something like a white wine spritzer (white wine cut with soda water), or vodka with a low-calorie mixer?

You can also go with a drink that is nearly all liquor, like a martini or Manhattan. It has a fair number of calories, but it only takes one to get the job done .

Scotch on the rocks. The alcohol does have calories, but you can nurse this for a while.

What would you suggest? usually I am a wine drinker, my experience with liquor is usually with a mixer. I do know that probably prefer something clear. Could a really high end tequila work? I've had some really shippable tequila, do bars usually have that?

I lived in Czech Republic for two years. Two-four beers a day. No weight gain. Came back, move driving, less beer - working out to get those extra pounds off. It's about lifestyle.

I'm looking for a one-nighter, not drinking every day. I've lost 40 pounds recently. The last time I went out & had 3 beers for the first time in 4 months the scale was 2 pounds heavier the next morning, it took a lot more than 1 night to lose it.

Diet coke and rum

Gin and tonic

Seltzer water and vodka

Vodka soda is probably the lowest calorie you can get. If you're serious about losing weight you should really just not drink-it is all empty calories and sugar.

Tequila soda water and limes.
