Our DD is super strong, no low tone but she's still not crawling. She pins her feet together and then just can't figure out the movements. She just stood up in her crib yesterday for the first time. We're starting PT this week but I'm wondering if this has anything to do with her height and weight (95 % in both). |
How old is your DD?
Umm knowing the age would help us
Makes sense. More weight to haul around. I felt my DS crawled a little late because he was so meaty
my daycare ladies swear this to be true.
I think so. Both of my kids are in 97-99th percentile for height and weight. My 2 yr old crawled around 7-8 months. My 24lb 6.5 month old is still not crawling or rolling and doesn't look like he will be anytime soon.
Both my kids were huge and crawled late. Ds at 10.5 months, and dd at 11.5 months.
DS was 10#12oz at birth and never crawled. Scooter a bit then started walking around 9 months.
I've heard this is true. I have a tall skinny baby and she crawled really early. Everyone said it was due to her shape.
Our 99th percentile DD crawled around 7.5 months. I only have one data point on this one, so I can't say whether I think it holds true for all.
My daughter is skinny side, maybe she is 19 lbs at 10 mos ...she is still not crawling yet and doesnt know how yet. She hates tummy time. She can roll over but for things she wants. She would roll over multiple times to get things she wants. I would like her to crawl but I couldn't force her.
Sorry. She's almost 13 months. |
My kids were both 95% and one walked at 9 months, the other at 10 months.
She may not crawl then. If she stood up. She may go to cruising. Good that you are doing PT just in case. |
I have heard anecdotally that this is true. My DS is pretty skinny and crawled early, and lots of people told me the two were correlated.
