No need to shoot the messenger. It happened. Arlington asked all travel players what their grade is at tryouts. |

USYS and US Club (ECNL) are going to be working together going forward. However I have not read or heard anything about ECNL having grad year showcases.
USYS did put out information and it does have language that makes it sounds like we will see high level tournament and showcases using grad year. |
No way.... Its almost like someone is making up GY showcases. |
This is from an official document put out by USYS. Maybe they won’t have grad year showcases but it sure sounds it. “School age grouping will help college recruitment. Players of the same graduating class will be participating together in high-level tournaments and showcase matches.” |
How many times will you lose before you give up? |
Lose what? |
That explains a lot. Keep going make your delusion reality. |

Here’s the whole thing Transitioning to an 8/1-7/31 age grouping is a return to the former grouping prior to 2017. Calendar birth year was mandated by US Soccer when most youth soccer was previously using school age. The mandate has been removed, allowing US Soccer Member Organizations the ability to group players as they see fit. The majority of youth soccer is non-competitive/recreational. The benefits of youth sport participation are numerous, but USYS feels that the social elements are some of the most important. • While using the calendar birth year age grouping USYS heard frequently from families asking for their children to play with their classmates Using seasonal year grouping creates the fewest trapped players. USYS feels that school year grouping promotes stronger team chemistry and retention by allowing children to play with their schoolmates and closest friends Grouping by school year often places players in a more consistent emotional and physical developmental environment. School age grouping will help college recruitment. Players of the same graduating class will be participating together in high-level tournaments and showcase matches. |
Read it and give me your version of what it says? Not understanding why you are taking this so personally. |
I'll take things that didn't happen for $500 Alex |
It says with SY, clubs will be able to group players how they feel within the SY guardrails. It doesnt say anything about GY and allowing older players to play down. That is your delusion that you're trying to convince others of. |
I wish I could follow you around making you follow through on the bets you make with the things you say. |
You’re correct it does not say grad year. Players of the same “graduating class” will be participating together in high-level tournaments and showcase matches. |
I reread your comment trying to understand what s delusional person that wants GY would think. I think I've figured it out. In your head because you want GY so badly youre extrapolating that because they mentioned graduating class that the statement includes all players in that class regardless of age. This is not the case. They're just saying that with the BY to SY change 99% of the players at events (if you include Aug birthdays playing up) will be in the same graduating class. No this is not the playing down golden ticket you're looking for that will allow your kid to beat up on younger players. |
This doesn't sound believable. They haven't had tryouts yet. |
