OP here. I listed to the early webinars. They definitely wanted to end any tracking or separate accelerated/advanced classes. They made that very clear. So I don't think this was a waste of time -- it was political pressure that made them change. |
Yes, they were explicitly sharing those early concepts for feedback. |
+1 Anyone who says otherwise is clueless and clearly has NOT read and listened to all the materials VMPI posted - plus the emails people on DCUM reported back on having gotten from VMPI. There is zero grey area on this. |
Well for those of us in LCPS that’s still relevant and definitely affects us! |
Sure, but it’s not VMPI/VDOE requiring it. |
If supporting accelerated math option is now a GOP talking point. I should go burn my elizabeth warren t-shirt because I agree with MT completely! |
Same. MK supporters trying to shame voters on issues like this and wanting open schools is just strange. |
It's the white board members trying to "save" the south and east Asian children from all that "pressure" their "culture" puts on them. White people to the "rescue." Or maybe they're threatened by success? It's hard to say. |
Gross. Is that really what some people think? |
But VMPI isn’t pushing detracking...why is she harping on it? |
They absolutely were pushing detracking. Sorry you are just catching up. |

They are pushing it. It's one of 4 links on their website as references. |
Yes. Just take a look at this forum. However, at the LCPS board meeting 4/27, it was the staff member who said it was too much stress to test 5th graders for advancement. |
It’s a link.
