I basically grew up with Taylor Swift's music. She's 34 and I'm 33. She's from Nashville and I grew up in Franklin, TN (~30 mins away). I went to several of her shows way back when after her debut album came out. I've been to all the tours. I'm a fan, etc, etc.

But the Easter eggs are getting to be too much to keep up with. I also wish she'd stop singing about high school or relating things back to high school. HS for her has been over for 25 years. It's time to move on.

Nope, I'm 44 and love them b/c I can discuss with my teen... makes for fun conversations.

I guess you don't get the point of "So High School". Also, unless she was 8 at graduation, she did not finish HS 25 years ago lol.

Preteens or younger. Teens don't listen to Taylor.

I'm nearly the same age as Taylor and you nailed it growing up on her music. It worked in my late teens and 20s, but now her peers have grown up and matured enough to realize that break ups happen, relationships end, and don't require a diss track everytime.

Her peers have families, marriages, relationships without marriage, break ups and have learned to deal with life while she hasn't. That's the price of fame.

Funny that is basically what she says in But Daddy I love him: "Growing up precocious sometimes means not growing up at all"

All of the criticisms I read here have been addresses and acknowledged by Taylor herself at some point. She is certainly self-aware.

+1 Not very likely no teens listen. I know so many mothers who took their teen daughters to her concerts. Who do these naysayers think have been filling these stadiums? I'm in my 40s and my daughter is a tween. I'm not the demographic to have grown up with her like the 30 somethings and she's all new to the tweens so I guess as some age out some are just discovering her and the cycle continues. For now, all good things must come to an end. But she will have had a good run.

Wrong! many of the HS girls pulled an all nighter to listen to the double album and either skipped school on Friday or went in late – at least had our school.

Some never do the marriage, kids, etc. Look at: Stevie Nicks, Dolly Parton (married, no kids), Miley Cyrus (similar age still singing about breakups, no kids), Mary J Blige, Kylie Minogue. Some just prefer to focus on career. Kylie is still singing about partying in the club and she's 55.

I don’t get why anyone cares really. Don’t like it? Don’t listen. I like some of her stuff, not all of it, but who cares? It’s what she writes about, some of it is a diss to society, exes, some just storytelling. What is she supposed to write about, tax cuts? This is just the basics of life really.

Stevie Nicks has blamed addiction for why she didn't have kids. Regrets it.

+1 The release was the main topic of conversation at DD’s all girls school. Even the girls that aren’t Swifties are curious and listened to the songs so they wouldn’t feel left out.

DP. I completely agree. And I love Taylor Swift! But honestly, I'm exhausted with the nonstop grievances and revenge songs. After *every* breakup, seriously? How about breaking up like grownups and moving on quietly? Surely not every breakup is so tortured... and even if it is, it's time to get on with things.

I knew when she announced she had this album(s) coming out that it was going to be too much. She was on top of the world with her Eras tour - did she really need to squeeze out more longwinded breakup songs?

DP. Here's the thing - I DO like her and almost all of her music. So of course I listened to her new albums. And now I want to take some Advil and sleep for hours. It's waaaaaaay too much.

How could a squirrely, unpleasant, dirty, drug addict have taken up so much space in her head and on this album. Ridiculous.

What I find interesting is that “So Long London” was actually a pretty understated and mature breakup song about growing apart and being hopeful they’ll find the right person someday.

I'm enjoying how Taylor had people singing Travis's praises and declaring this the perfect guy for her, when all along she has been sweating puny Matt Healy, who looks like a weasel.

In my neighborhood Taylor is a big hit with the elementary age girls and their moms and teachers.

Not much interest in middle school and definitely not in high school.

Eras tour attendance matched. Lots of elementary and then women in their 30s

How could she be so completely undone by this gross guy she had only been seeing for a couple of months? Almost the entire double album is about him. Yeeeesh.
