Walker, his boss, Hull to start

The have no jurisdiction by which to do this. Only the Superintendent is their contract. Everyone else in the system works for MCPS. Plus they now have the Jackson- Lewis report, and two OIG reports..

Sure they do. It is called oversight.

If they don’t do these, the redactions need to be removed. Time for the public to be able to see what is happening in central office

If indeed it was McKnight then it would make things a lot easier to push her out, really. For now, it’s all wild speculation, and that makes things worse. We don’t know whom to trust. And that is a dysfunctional and chilling situation. (And untenable, in the short- and long-term.)

Does the public have your personnel information? Of course not. You don’t have a need to know because you can’t do anything with the information. The board has the information. No one has been fired. If you don’t like it, hold the board accountable.

Wait so how do YOU know no one was fired?

No one from the CO has been fired since the IG found that a senior administrator was evasive. Therefore, it’s very easy to conclude that no one was fired.

Is Acting Chief Diane Morris still employed?

She was terminated in December.

What about Jeanie Dawson and Donna Jones?

This is a big problem. Firing a bunch of people inc McKnight is only a small part of the solution. Then you need to find someone competent willing to do these jobs and change the long standing MCPS culture of defensiveness and lack of transparency that precedes McKnight (the Biedelman scandal does not precede her, it started before she got there but continued under her watch).

And wasn't the Nancy Navarro hire by McKnight in anov '23, after McKnight's medical leave, controversial as she did not bring it to the BOe. Navarro was brought to lead external affairs as things were getting out of hand. Who knows more about the Navarro hire? Navarro a former Montgomery County Council member and member/President of the BOE.

Yolanda Allen is an executive director in the Office of Deputy Superintendent. Thanks for checking that Wa Po link.

Let's remember the people that are still out there teaching (and other staff working) for years in hostile work environments. I hope the county council focuses on the backlog of complaints that were ignored, dropped, and mishandled. We need an institutionalized response that never allows a DCI to work in darkness.

Monifa McKnight's personal concern about her job loss recedes in the face of all this. And, this is on Jack Smith and maybe Josh Starr too. DCI's mess didn't start in 2018.

And why does McKnight's action plan on preserving emails for three years, instead of one year, not take effect until the second week in February? What's up with that?

Is that the time of the next Board meeting? Or that's when she plans to step down as she has already been asked?

No way she steps down now. This will be dragged out. Bet she makes it through the school year and then they mutually part ways and we'll have an interim super for 2024-2025.

Ugh. Do we really want McKnight to be the one filling the 19+ principal positions, right before she's shown the door?

Good point.

That has to be a bold-faced lie. I don’t know of any students, other than the SMOB and other kids involved in countywide SGA, who care about her.

Yeah that is BS. Most couldn’t name the superintendent if their graduation depended on it. It may be that the activist set like her but they are a tiny percentage.

I defended her to my high schooler a couple of years ago and they said no one liked her. I did. No more, though.

Temporary/acting appointments don't get approved by the BOE.

They are both back.

I would add Dana Edwards to the list since she is Chief Operating Officer and oversees the HR department.

Edwards is not COO, she is Chief of District Operations and she does not oversee HR. April Key is the Chief of HR. Hull is the COO and supervises them both.

Maybe Stephanie Sheron, Chief, Office of Strategic Initiatives, another former MS principal crony McKnight promoted?
