New Additions to Leagues Check Up (ECNL & GA)

It’s all going to change to something shiny and new in 4 to 5 years anyways

To this day ECNL missing their chance to be everything when DA blew up is what blows me away. Pettiness and personal grudges came before money and running a business. Now US Soccer is going to slowly get back into the spotlight ironically by copying what ECNL does.

If I’m MLSN I’m pushing the ncaa to allow minimal international scholarships players on D1-2. American University Scholarships should be for Americans.

What happened to believing in meritocracy? Presumably if the US players were better colleges would take them. Man up.

colleges/universities receiving taxpayer money should not be allowed to take foreigners and/or illegals over Americans.

you went right to "illegals" with also being a total f'ing idiot and not understanding how any of this works. I feel bad for your kid.

looks like the truth hurt you today.

The most accurate statement in 430 pages of pure garbage

It’s all going to be pretty irrelevant sooner than that when that fifth year of eligibility kicks in and families start to realize that all the money spent to get a scholarship for their college education becomes a dream for all but the top players. And the college education they’re all trying to get won’t even get them a job when they’re finally out of school because AI has replaced most of them while they weren’t paying attention to the right things.

Girls flag football in college will take over in next 10 years.

Not a top club but a top player.

Now you want quotas and affirmative action and set asides…. I thought that encouraged dependency and trained helplessness. Suggests you don’t think Americans can compete on their own, fostering a mindset of dependency instead of self-improvement.

Try getting better instead. Would benefit all of American soccer to do so.

23 Girls Academy call-ups in 2025-26 — 33.8% of the U15 pool, up from 9.5% last year. That’s not a small bump… that’s a major jump.

14 players from 11 GA clubs earned spots. That kind of club diversity also says something important: talent identification in GA is broadening, not concentrated.

The gap between GA and ECNL is continuing to narrow and arguably shifting at younger age groups.

Yes, there are more GA teams after last years expansion. But these numbers still suggest ECNL > GA. Or is ECNL < 33%?

the quality gap is not narrowing. it is actually getting bigger in terms of quality. GA may be adding more teams, but they are terrible clubs.
