DS turns 12 soon and he has no ideas for birthday gifts. He already has much of what he would want - laptop, DS, xbox, ipad.
Money is probably what we will give but I would still like to wrap some gifts. What are some unique ideas for gifts that others have run across? He is already getting an experiential gift that will take place over the summer. |
|
So... a cake and candles. With a card.

Sounds like he is well covered in the gift department. He is already getting a gift this summer, tat should be fine.

A package of socks. A box of his favorite cereal. A toy for the dog/cat/guinea pig. A can of soup to take to the next school canned food drive. A nice rock that you found on a hike.
This kid doesn't sound like he needs more stuff. |
| all good answers. No gift needed, other than your efforts to make the day festive. (decorations at breakfast, favorite breakfast. Let him choose what's for dinner.) A card that is a voucher for the experiential gift. |
| Maybe dinner and a movie? |
| Clothes, a new case for the iPad, wireless headphones (my son LOVES his), gaming headphones, posters if you allow him to hang them on the wall, a new water bottle, his favorite candy, a book? These are all things my son might like... |
| We are giving my soon to be 13 yr old DS tix to Les Miserables in DC at Christmas - one of his favorite musicals. |
| Nothing. Organize a trip to the food bank. Be charitable. |
| Thanks for the concrete ideas from some of you, I had not thought of wireless headphones - is there a particular brand/type you recommend? |
|
Nerf guns - enough for him to play with a bunch of kids in the backyard.
An equal amount (or more) for the kids at the nearest homeless shelter and please deliver them together |
Since you are clearly rich as S$ht - dr dre |
| A wonderful experience. Ziplining, rock climbing, cooking with a chef, movie tickets, ... |
| A 12 year old should not have everything. |
Yeah - no. |
