Are you hungry? Sort of-ish.
Where's the remote? Over thereish |
| Ok |
| mmmmm....Ok ish! |
| I've never heard anyone use the -ish suffix in the ways you used as examples, OP. I think you're kind of grasping for examples to prove your outrage. It's not a big deal, clearly language evolves faster than your brain did. |
+ 1 Lol. |
| Mmmmmmmk. |
NP. I have heard people use it, and it doesn't bother me. Also, one word/ word fragment does not make a phrase. |
| I've never heard anyone use this. |

I use "ish" all the time to describe a non-specified hour. Like "We will run errands and then return home around noon-ish."
Since I don't know exactly how long the errands will take, I don't want to say "noon" exactly--it might end up being as early as 11 or as late as 1 pm. |

Sorry-ish!
|
| Doesn't bother me. |
| My 9 yr old uses it all the time. Hungrish. Tiredish. I take it to mean sort of. |
|
I think it's fine to denote something non-specific (noon-ish above is a good example).
I dislike when it's used as "shit." (E.g., "I hate that ish.") |
| You must have annoying friends. I have never heard anyone say things like this. |
Agree - really annoying. Avoid speaking to these people. |
