Letter from a member of Virginia house of delegates to honor roll student

Anonymous
Honor roll students at my DC's middle school received congratulatory letter from a member of Virginia house of delegates. Just curious how common or rare this is? It certainly is a proud moment for the child and very encouraging.

Thank you. Never heard of it before hence was curious. Good to know they do that.

My kid was on the honor roll in NOVA in MS every quarter and never got a letter. Maybe it's up to each school district to organize it.

We usually got the letter at the end of school period, sometime in June, if I'm not wrong. We are in loudoun county.

Two kids who have been on middle school honor roll many times and we've never gotten any letter like that.

We get it in Loudoun in elementary school. I didn't even know they had an honor roll.

My Arlington 5th grader got one last marking period, first time. Never before, but she's always been on the honor roll. Maybe they just rotate schools. Or she just loses them.

My DS just got one for the first time in 3rd grade. APS.

There is an honor roll in Arlington and Loudoun? How do you even get on an honor roll in elementary?

There was no honor roll at our Arlington elementary. My son did get a letter from Obama at the end of 5th grade congratulating him on his gpa. He looked really carefully at it to see if it was a real signature

I don't think we have one at our school - maybe just principal's list? The letter says "honor roll" though. Generic form letter?

Its an election year for every member of the house of delegates. Of course this is the year they send letters home...
