Waitlist Movement?

Anonymous
It's a couple hours from enrollment deadline. Post if you see your lists move tomorrow. What are you hoping for?

My kid was #31 on the SWW HS WL and got an email saying he got a space by 7pm.

Wow. Wonder if they'll go through the entire list by June (only 51 students on it).

Most of my HRCS numbers moved a few spots yesterday or today. But I am waaaaay at the bottom of the PK4 list, so it is probably juat people getting off lists rather than offers being extended.

Probably the latter. I see you can now remove yourself from the waitlist, so I imagine some people have done that. I'm in the range of high 20's to mid 30's on various HRCS waitlists (PK4), and my number hasn't budged a bit.

I'm in the low 20s for Latin 5th grade, and I haven't moved at all (except one position in the wrong direction the day after the lottery came out).

FWIW, we are toward the top of the list at Latin and (obv, I guess) have also seen no movement. I'm now checking MySchools in my sleep.

Waiting on the PK4 movement resulting from the new PK4 class at DC Bilingual. Once the students on the waitlist there are offered a spot at DCBilingual to fill the new classroom, they will be removed from any waitlist on schools that they ranked below. This should result in immediate movement at all schools. Presumably, this has yet to happen.

Plus, there will be movement on all waitlists to account for new spots available due to students who decline to stay on for PK4.

Last year we had an under 10 number for Latin 5th grade waitlist and didn't get the acceptance email until 5/13.

PK3, got in our inbound (and will attend), have waitlist #'s 50 and below at some of the popular schools. Zero positive movement, and a few numbers have gotten higher. I think the days of big movement - unless new classrooms are added - are really over. Onesies twosies from here out at the PK level is my guess. Best of luck to all.

We had a <10 waitlist number for Lafayette (in bounds for PK4) and got an acceptance email last night!

Interesting! Thanks for sharing. I won't weep yet, then, at our lack of movement.

The time to weep is Sept 30. Way too early.

OK, I won't weep. But I just checked again and we've gone one spot in the wrong direction today. So may I snivel a little?

How do you find out if your number changed? We were <10 at Basis for 5th -- are we in? I didn't get a phone call and now that it's after 6, I'm guessing it's too late to call today.
