Waitlist Movement?

Log in and see if your number changed.

But the lists move at different rates. Depends on the individual school and its process. Also, they make offers to people on the WL, but those people have a few days to accept or decline. Your numbers won't move immediately.

Interesting! Thanks for sharing. I won't weep yet, then, at our lack of movement.

The time to weep is Sept 30. Way too early.

OK, I won't weep. But I just checked again and we've gone one spot in the wrong direction today. So may I snivel a little?

I'm the PP in the low 20s and we moved one spot in the wrong direction today too. Sigh.

Basis hasn't moved at all yet. It will.

I think there might be some delay in BASIS updating enrollment in MySchoolDC. We submitted all our enrollment paperwork, verified residency, etc., but on MySchoolDC it still lists our child as enrollment pending.

So if you are low on the waitlist, call the school! Or hang on a few days - hopefully everything will be updated soon. Ugh, lots of friends on the waitlist, and I hope it starts moving quickly. We have totally been there and it's agony. Just got lucky this time.

If there is movement, would that be the only movement that we see for the month or is it something that will continue to shift?

Yes, it will continue to shift.

Example -- 30 of their initial 120 offers said no by May 1.

They contact top 30 on the wait list starting yesterday and today.

They each get (hypothetically) 7 days to decide and enroll. But some will accept or reject the offer more quickly than others within that window, some will ask for a tour before deciding, etc.

The school can input the answers as they receive them and then reach out to #31 and so forth.

Our numbers don't seem to be moving at. all. yet. Is CMI, ITS, DCB, Lee, etc. moving for anyone? Still too soon?

We are <5 for CMI and <10 for ITS and only backwards movement so far

It's still early. The lists don't move while offers are pending, so it can take a while to reflect as people consider options. Most schools give a week at this stage to accept/decline.

I do know someone who got an offer from CMI PK3 yesterday.

Any new waitlist movement people can share? We have seen our numbers tick in the right direction by one or two since the enrollment deadline, but nothing dramatic.

DCB seems to be moving for PK4, per thr new classroom.

I would expect numbers, esp for PK3, to start moving some this week. Schools generally give folks about a week (so tomorrow) to accept/decline waitlist spots.

I'm giving up a Pre-k 3 seat at Inspired Teaching tomorrow so that will bump someone up.

Did you get in somewhere else or are you holding your kid home for another year?
