It goes beyond 2 hours…more like 2 years. They didn’t make any effort to keep the talent in the area and some went to MD clubs early on. And they also passed over kids at tryouts who had been on Stars LB and Pride red in favor of kids on B teams. |
Agree with this. Some really good players and some real head scratchers were picked for Blue. Hopefully they can improve the team through tryouts. Would love to know who, if any, from other clubs is trying out. |
This isn’t unique to 28. Happens every year. And sometimes it’s more than just a players ability that results in them not making team. Capital will right the ship both for blue and orange. Conversations have been had with a handful of players for both teams. Changes will happen. |
Agreed. This is similar to what happened on the 27 teams as well. |
Similar to what happened with the 27s? Conversations may have been had, but no changes were made to the blue roster. I am not sure where you expect these big changes to come from even if they do move people off of blue. The answer isn’t orange. Even the best couple of players on Orange aren’t going to make a big enough difference on a better team. They may look like they are outstanding this summer, and may be playing great, but it is against significantly weaker competition in lower brackets |
I was referring to the “Some really good players and some real head scratchers were picked for Blue.” comment. |
Wow!!!!! This may be one of the biggest entitled and threatened comments ever. Cap Blue parents at their finest as usual |
Capital “family” at its best. Shitting against its own teams. This is why I love the reading the 28 forum. |
Here is a question that hasn’t been asked, everyone is pointing that the girls are the issue Sure any team could use talent upgrade, but is coaching the issue??? Honestly looking for a legit answer |
A year ago, Pride Red wrapped up a successful season, approaching the top level of lacrosse, winning a major tournament (perhaps with an asterisk), and finishing ranked #7. A couple of weeks later, Capital held a tryout with the best players in the area, excluding several good players who had already secured spots on top MD teams. Using their professional judgment, Capital selected a Blue roster, comprising a majority from Pride Red. Despite their best intentions, the team Capital assembled is now significantly less competitive than Pride Red was.
Perhaps Pride Red was not as good and simply got lucky at the end. Or maybe the players selected for Capital Blue are, on average, less talented than the Pride Red players. It’s possible the new team just does not work well together. It could also be due to ineffective programming and coaching at Capital. I don’t know the answer, but I don't think the current situation should be considered acceptable by anyone involved. Capital will get another shot at it next week, and their reputation is on the line. I hope good players show up ready to fight for it. I also feel bad for players who may not make it. The next several years are going to be hard for all of these girls, with someone constantly trying to take their spot, and the end is coming for all of them. Such is life. |
Maybe the Red parents could give some advice to the M&D DC 29s who are in a similar situation. Red, if you could go back in time would you just stay together at pride? |
Pride parents still full of themselves. You want to know the problem with blue…here is your answer. Team hadn’t gelled. Too many cliques. IFYKYK. And that falls on coach. Capital picked this team and they haven’t figured out how to have them play as a team. And who cares MS ranking. Look at the top 25 now. It looks completely different than it did end of 8th grade. |
They may have changed order, but the top 25 now is remarkably similar to end of 8th grade. The only teams who were in top 20 then but not now are: Pride Red (now Pride Black #75) Philly Blast Brave (now #32) NXT Black (now #27) |
Wildly inaccurate. Go look right now. hhh was top 25? Alliance? I can go on and on but I’m dealing with prob the same person that was fighting on the 27 forum for 8 hours so I’ll just end it now. |
+100! Pride parents love to re live the glory days of a middle school ranking that meant nothing. |
