Don't give up hope, it still could be. And if it is, there are people saying being part of Capital would put those girls on a big recruiting track. |
I think it depends on which Coppermine players are there. And would capital want to take on some of the baggage of certain players. |
|
I don't think the Cop 28 players looking are going to Capital. That don't make sense. |
Coppermine is facing significant challenges, probably prompting players to look for better recruiting options entering sophomore year. Top Baltimore teams like M&D, Hero’s, and Skywalkers have limited roster spots, making them difficult to join at this point. Capital, however, has an open tryout and a demonstrated history of top notch commitments. Despite the longer commute, Capital may be the best choice for some of the Coppermine players, particularly those interested in high academic colleges and universities. It makes sense to me. |
What tournaments does Capital have left? |
|
G8 and MD Cup. |

This is all confusing, I thought everything was going fine? They're playing pretty well this summer, why would Capital be looking to make changes in the recruiting year? The word here was they were going to be getting the typical offers and Capital's recruiting history was on deck next. This doesn't make any sense, what will happen to the girls that are cut to make way for others? |
If you’re cut this late in the game then college lacrosse might not be in the cards. Some girls peek in middle school and just can’t make it over the huge jump into high school. Usually (there are exceptions) by 9th grade it’s obvious who’s got it to play at the next level. |
|
So it comes down to this. Capital still has the pick of the litter at the age groups. They get the best players from the middle school level. Those middle school laxers developed great under different clubs. They peaked and/or did not develop under Capital and so they are going to be cut. Maybe this is why Capital is high school only. |
Mistakes were made last year. Girls who should have been on Capital were passed over. They've settled onto other teams and are thriving. Not sure if there are any other high school only clubs but its hard to judge which player is recruitable based on 2 hours. |
