Brandon Todd - Ward 4

Anonymous
I know many think he is just a Bowser lackey and ineffectual, but this doesn't help him at all

https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/dc-politics/audit-finds-dc-council-member-cannot-substantiate-100k-in-contributions/2017/04/07/45b014ee-1afe-11e7-855e-4824bbb5d748_story.html

I can understand $1,000 or something, but a 6 figure gap in accounting in campaign monies is bordering on either gross negligence or criminality.

I have no words for this idiot.

It seems that he's more of a Marion Barry/Michael Brown wannabee.

Todd's apparent inability to manage finances is ridiculous. He previously had to declare personal bankruptcy after running up credit card bills:

Then he misspend funds from his constituent service fund and ended having to pay the expenditures out of his own pocket:

And this is the guy who was Muriel Bowser's Finance Chairman?

Todd, Bowser, and the notorious (and defunct) FreshPAC all share the same treasurer. Bowser accepted illegal contributions from a slum lord that is now in a legal dispute with the District. No wonder Bowser has been an opponent of campaign finance reform.

And the wife of said treasurer is on the board of the Lab School. Which may explain why giving away the old Hardy School is such a priority for the city.

This is concerning.

But? This only confirms what everyone knows: he's a Bowser lackey, beyond ineffectual and a complete moron to boot.

I agree with what you're all saying, but who is going to run against him?
He's got the loyalty of the green team, which turns out some votes. The usual suspects aren't close enough.

This should be enough to make sure he isn't viable in the re-election. Ward 4 is rich with competent replacements.

When the Council discussed the measure in December, the three councilmembers who spoke in favor were Cheh, Evans and Grosso. Grosso took a ton of money from Soto affiliates in the 2016 election. Evans has never made a secret that he is for sale to the highest bidder (how can you sell without advertising?). Cheh is a bit of a mystery, why she wants to be involved with this shady business.

Please remember that this thread is about Brandon Todd and his campaign finance problems. The Lab School has it's own thread. Please don't hijack this one as well.

I thought Leon Andrews was a great candidate. Really hoping he'll still be interested (https://www.petworthnews.org/blog/conversation-leon-andrews-ward-4-council)

It's all related. But I'll stay on topic.

I'm a Ward 4 resident and I'm very displeased with Brandon Todd. I can't point to a single solid accomplishment from his office. He is deaf to concerns about crime, schools, and development. He offers no resistance or negotiation to Bowser's disproportionate placement of homeless shelters or juvenile detention facilities in the Ward. I wish he could be booted out, and I honestly don't know why he has enough community support to have won his election.

Lastly, his face has always reminded me of the snake mini-boss on Mega Man 3: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/oFbinc1PNIc/hqdefault.jpg
