Good writing curriculum for quick summer fixing essay writing, ADHD

Anonymous
I am looking for effective curriculum that parents can use over the summer to help with writing for MS/HS. (Child will go to 8th grade next year.)
I understand that quick fixes do not happen, but I will appreciate any suggestions.
We have very limited resources at this point. So tutors and private schools are out at this point.
Child is barely on the grade level, or just a bit below. Public school.

We homeschool, but have some of the same challenges. I really like Institute for Excellence in Writing for organizationally challenged kids. It's not cheap, but I'd look at the website footsteps to see if you can find a local course for it or look at adapting some of the strategies at home.

we are in MOCo and our 5th grader has improved his writing and reading skills significantly this past year, we opted for signing him at our local Spider smart, it is not free, but not terribly expensive either. DC attends a one hour session weekly, reviews homework with teacher and gets a new assignment weekly.

Thanks OP - I happen to be hunting for the same thing for my oldest, who's in 7th grade now. Sidwell has an enrichment class in English during the summer - $1k for a month of classes. The logistics are not optimal for us (two working parents) so I'm definitely going to check out the online programs recommended above. Hope to hear more ideas too!
