The 04s are a new team for him but have been weak. This will be a real test to see if his coaching techniques of screaming and belittling can produce results from a less talented group. If any parent wants to move their kid to that after Spirit, they made the wrong choice to join Spirit in the first place, which has never pretended to be a “win at any costs” type of club.

The 02 team he took over went from 10th in CCL to 3rd in the mid Atlantic conference in ECNL and qualified for nationals. My kid plays on that team and every player on that team has improved so much. The difference a year with this coach has made with the 02 team is staggering. My daughter has never been belittled and as I have said on this forum before my kid and her coach have a very good relationship. I think finishing 3rd in an ECNL conference means you are a good team? It would be nice if you could stop dragging young players and coaches that you clearly know very little about.

So you’re giving him the credit for the team’s improvement when it was really just because some good players came over for the ECNL badge? Are you honestly suggesting they came for him?

When you can watch a team not be able to connect 5 passes at the start of the year to regularly connecting 15-20 passes and qualifying for ECNL Nationals, which is not easy, I would say honestly yes

interested to know what team- club you are coming from? Getting to ECNL Nationals is not easy, only 32 of the top ECNL teams in the Country

No you're not.

Bryc 04 and 05 have poor standings in an extremely weak division.

Sigh. Another useless parent generalization.

Not sure how that's a generalization based on last years performance. Are they "rebuilding" by not bringing back last years players and bringing in a new 11. So is this another recruitment vs development club to discuss?

--------------------------------------------------------

Girls ECNL Director took the 04s so anybody who cant going to help him win games is or will be gone.
The 04 team will be a better soccer team because everyone knows he wont tolerate losing and will continue to seek out players
from where ever he needs to so that he can win

His teams play some of the best soccer in this area for sure. Training is top level.

If Spirit continues along their path, he might not need to recruit.

Spirit is in complete chaos! 28 kids on a roster!

McLean parent here, if a team gets to champions league they will be a good soccer team. It is very difficult to get there. I don't think one spirit team could even get close to champions league in ECNL

and half of them are there because ECNL has been watered down. They would not have made it there in the past. So again, Shhhhh. Take a nap.

I heard Loudoun ECNL whooped VDA ECNL recently in a friendly match. Can anyone confirm or deny this.

It's pre season, but VDA lost all but 1 game. Will be a tough year in ECNL. Kick off next week against BRYC

Washington Spirit 04's continue to be a disaster. Roster is still at 28 - just embarrassing bringing 25 (3 not available) to NJ for a scrimmage this past weekend. Coach is new and doesn't know the kids names or positions and the first game is in 10 days. To boot the technical director was promoted to the pro team Head Coach earlier today, so I am sure his time with the DA teams will be extremely limited. Practice fields are overcrowded and the girls sit for 1/3rd of the practice because there are just too many players. Everyone is regretting the decision to go with Spirit this year.

Apparently, you know very little.

He cut almost every girl on 02 roster from the previous year (CCL), so its not like he was coaching the same group of girls to a remarkable turn around. Plus, he stopped coaching one 02 during season to the point where she started playing with the 01 team. If he comes to the conclusion that a player can't help him win games, he stops coaching them. Or, if he's filling in as a coach, he'll have his girls play up and not play the girls at the level he is subbing for. This happens regularly.

He may indeed make your daughter a better soccer player, and will continue to do so as long as she can help win him games, but the guy is only out for himself.

Some came because of ECNL, and some came to play for him.
If he wants to coach a team, he can make the individual girls and the team better. If he doesn't like the girls or believe they can win, he'll start pouting.

He can make players better, but has no problem ignoring the ones on the team who he can't find a use for, even if he selected them.
He has no problem discouraging girls from playing high school soccer, even though the club touts ECNL as way for the girls to play high level travel soccer and high school soccer.

Judge the relationship between coach and player when things hit a rough patch. He's great a front runner but has no character to hang in when things are going poorly.

When my daughter is still on the team I think I know enough. It's nice to know who we are talking to though
