Women who use infantilizing language about themselves or other women. Examples…
“I’m just a Taylor Swift girly” “Yassss girly pop!” “I love girlhood” “We’re all just girls” |
AGREE. You're a grown up! Speak like one. |
But your dog is not just existing in space. He's on a public sidewalk, and he has to share that sidewalk. Including giving a reasonable amount of space to any person (not just a kid, but especially kids) who might not want to interact with him. That's what the leash is for, and that's why leash laws exist. You are more than welcome to take your dog places where he doesn't have to share the space. Get a house with a big yard, take him to the dog park, go live somewhere where there is little foot traffic on the roads. But if you are in a populated area with leash laws, you are obligated to keep the leash short enough that someone could walk by without having to worry about your dog getting close to them. |
+1 This. My mother was devastated for 18 months after my grandfather died at the age of 88. So much so that I felt that i couldn't tell her about my repeat pregnancy losses because I couldn't add to her sadness. Her grief just sucked all of the air out of the room. I've made peace with it now, but there's still a part of me that's angry that I couldn't rely on my mom when I was going through one of the worst periods of my own life. |
Especially enraging when accompanied by that weird baby voice some adult women do. Like "I'm just a wittle girl, hee see." Grow up. A lot of women start doing this when they have kids, specifically to talk about their kids. It's so obnoxious. The parenting list serve in my neighborhood is all "Aw, my little just outgrew this stacking toy. It's the cutest! I hope it finds a great home with another wee nugget!" Like omg you are 42 years old do you hear yourself? |

Oh also, people who constantly use therapy speak…
“I’m really disregulated today” “I’m doing some nervous system work and your comments were really triggering to me” “I’m not okay with you gaslighting me” |
Your dog has no rights whatsoever, at least not in a legal sense. |
‘Littles’ is another one that kills me. I constantly see ‘Hi, I’m a proud mama of four littles!’ Little WHAT? |
| When people talk on their phones using speaker mode in dressing rooms. It’s always a certain subset of people and it drives me absolutely insane! |
| People still voting for republicans |
| I've probably posted in this thread before but monocles and the use of "assassination" to mean run of the mill murder. |
If you have a dog that tends towards biting, that’s the problem, not the leash. They need training and a muzzle, not a shorter leash. |
A dog on leash is the law. I comply with the law. I don’t use a retractable leash. It’s not my problem that your child has an irrational fear. Seek help because dogs are everywhere and they’re not going anywhere. |
I live in NYC. A dog will always be close to anyone they are passing. |
Who is talking about legality? Are you going to call the police because my dog is walking peaceably next to me on leash? You know there is actual crime going on in the world, right? |
