He is a dad and that's a responsibility in itself whether mom is in the picture or not. At 45, you can't be off continuing your football career. There's a reason why people in any profession stop travelling as much as they do at age 25, if they have kids. It's a choice you make - certainly some still choose career but you know, your kids will never forget that choice.

I get that Jordan, Gretzky, et. al also sacrificed their family time for their sports career but both of them ended that by age 45. Either Tom really hated spending time at home and chose to break up with her by returning to football, or he is truly self absorbed and not a good man.

I think it's pretty fateful though that his season seems to be sucking! So he's gonna play a last losing season and go through the pain of training and losing and drama only to lose his wife. That's karma!

Agreed and I think for her it wasn’t even about herself, she’s just very hurt on behalf of the children that he cannot just cut back from football to be there for them.

Not to mention - most (all?) years he took an enormous pay cut to help his team acquire great talent - well, the Patriots anyway. If he didn’t do that, he would be worth much more than gisele!
