The myopia of the Montgomery County parent strikes again.

You forgot Blackwolf, VLC and Crabs. All three have many more commits than either NL or CB (which doesn't have a HS team).

Any info from anyone on Gary Gait? Is he a good guy? How does he treat his players? What was he like when he was younger?

Many Maryland Women's lax fans think he was the (not entirely) secret ingredient in the Terps' string of titles some years ago. A wizard at teaching shooting. I will predict that in a couple more years Syracuse women's lacrosse may be a dominant team.

Gait did a clinic back when my son was U9. He taught some amazing things that were easy to understand for kids.

I know he was a great player, and has coached several winning women's team, but what I am truly wondering is, what type of coach is he? By that I mean is he a yeller? Does he scream at his players when they are loosing or playing poorly? Or is he more even keeled and controlled, using constructive critisisms and a more supportive structure? Does he vary his style when coaching women and men or children? How does he treat those around him?

You need to post on Baltimore Urban moms and dads to get the answer to good club teams.

Wrong. There are several good DC area lacrosse clubs, but almost all of them are on the Virginia side (which is blasphemy on this forum).

Sorry, don't have that level of knowledge of him. There are some sites (LaxPower, I think, is maybe the biggest) where you could probably get more of that type of info.

I was partially joking though Baltimore does have some of the best clubs, NY is better...

What are the DC and Virginia club teams?

Is lax in this area an all-white sport for the most part?

This past season I noticed that some seniors who were recruited into elite programs following their 10th grade season did not stand out nearly as much by the end of their senior season. Given the different rate at which kids mature, it seems nutty to make a recruiting decision when a child may (or may not) still have a lot of growing to do. I wonder if some of these elite programs regret acting too soon. I haven’t heard of any of them pulling back offers.

Elite programs recruiting from their club pools, schools, tournaments, or somewhere else?
