Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
VA dad tries desperately to deflect so he can get back to the misinformation bullet points he's got scribbled on the whiteboard |
Virtual parents don’t care. Find a new target. |
This map is pretty disingenuous since lots of masks mandates are now decided at the school district level versus the state level and if Maryland lifted their mask man tomorrow you know mcps would in state a mask mandate in its place. My theory is that mcps will lift the mask if the case rates are as low as they were last year in June and July but who knows. Mcps spent a lot of money buying Kn 95 for students so in theory they would want kids to wear them for the time being but they've certainly spent wasted their money unnecessarily before. |
What metrics then? Based on vaccine rate or case rates or something else? Montgomery county just keeps kicking the can down the road and changing the metrics on us but at least there is something |
Nah, she's not that good, but she's trying lol. Jeff pretty much nixed deleting posts that are for mask optional although this person is desperately trying to get him to do that. Good for him. https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1037224.page |
I'm not really sure what you mean. You don't actually think the surge was due to people not wear some Old Navy fabric across their nose and mouth, right? |
Fair. I know someone IRL who could absolutely be this person and I feel deeply sorry for her. She's smart and educated and lives her life as an online troll, desperate for attention. Such a waste. |
The surge was a new variant thanks to those traveling who relied on the vaccine as a cure and it wasn’t. The surge was due to selfish people not staying home and stressing it. It will happen again. |
So, you don’t agree with them and they are a troll! Maybe you are the troll. Mask your kids. |
| Back to the original question, yes. And I think sooner than that. You can’t deny what is happening nationwide including in blue counties in Illinois and Colorado. Most parents hate child masks at this point and are questioning both efficacy and harm. Yay! Cannot wait to see the forever child maskers of MCCPTA Facebook freak out. |
Your six year old should be learning to read at home every night with you. One would assume you don’t mask at home. |
You can always move. It’s sad you don’t feel any community responsibility as only care about your wants. No wonder our country is so screwed up. And, most of those states don’t have huge schools that can be super spreaders. |
Why do you keep letting the unvaccinated off the hook? But I am glad you are recognizing that it had nothing to do with mask wearing -- so let's drop them, eh? |
She's not a troll because we disagree, she's a troll because she spends her time bouncing between FB, Twitter, her blog, quite possibly here, copying and pasting the same stuff, trying to get a reaction out of people. I've seen her do it on multiple forums. The content is irrelevant; it's that she's trying to provoke. It doesn't help that she has zero relevant content expertise, other than being a good writer. Also, stop projecting. |
Vaccines help with symptoms but are not stopping the spread of new variants. MOCO is highly vaccinated and just had a huge surge so clearly these vaccines alone are not enough to stop surges. When students get Covid they miss out on school. The idea of masking and precautions is to stop the spread to keep students in school, which should be everyone,’s goal. It’s sad we live in a me culture and not a we culture. Everyone hates masks but we mask to keep ourselves safe and to keep others safe. It’s part of living in a community. |
