Advice wanted on multiple calendars.
I need to schedule various activities/events (work meetings, work travel, private appts, family plans, husband schedule so I can make my travel schedule etc) and I do not want everyone to know my business. I am so confused and am not computer savvy. Please share advice on how to manage/organize my multiple (3) calendars for various accounts (e.g., two personal gmail accounts, one work-related outlook accounts). I would want to use it on my phone (pixel) and on my computer. I prefer the gmail set up... but have double booked because I did not check each calendar. |
| I subscribe to my gmail calendars using my work outlook calendar. Then I overlay my gmail calendars over my work calendar. Only I can see my gmail calendar. |
| I just forward every work related thing that matters (I.e trip) to gmail |
| If you log into Outlook using the web platform, you can get the link for your calendar. Then you can set up that calendar to appear when you look at your Google calendars. |
| Do you have iPhone, OP? If so, you can combine your outlook calendars and Gmail calendars together on your iPhone calendar. |
| PP here. Meant to add that you just update your separate calendars as usual and the iPhone automatically syncs up to them. |
| Op, if you and your DH have iphones you can create a shared calendar. So all your stuff goes on there, and he can see it as well. My work stuff mostly stays on my work outlook calendar, except for travel and after hour stuff where I also put it on the shared calendar. |
| My husband and I share a calendar using the Cozi app - it's reduced calendar disagreements/mix ups so much! I love that we can code things by family member, so we can do things individually or as a group. |
| You can combine gmail calendars easy. My work calendar can't accept outside ones and can't be shared, so I just deal with two. |
| y'all sound controlling and annoying. |
What's controlling about wanting to keep a calendar/calendars so you can keep track of what's going on? |
| I can't share my work calendar either and it's not accessible via web or by any other means. So I keep two calendars, and if there is anything personal happening during work hours (such as a doctor's appointment) I put it on my work calendar and mark it as private. That way, people can see that I am booked from 3-5 but can't see any details, even on if they otherwise have read access to it. |
+1,000 Do we have anything planned this weekend? Hey look it's on the shared calendar ! * shrug * |
| If you have gmail and outlook accounts, which do you prefer? Use that one and add the other calendar. |
This seems like a great idea. Then, as kids get older they can see/add as well. But, does this not become yet another calendar? Or, can you "overlay" it like the person did above? |
