| Just wondering if students from NOVA need better grades/test scores (when compared with students from other parts of VA) to get accepted at UVA. Or is this just a rumor? |
|
Quotas by high school not county. Better to be in a lesser H S.
|
| If you want in at UVA, go to NVCC and avail yourself of the guaranteed transfer admission process. The criteria are not hard to meet. Secret is getting out, though. |
Better to be in a mediocre-plus high school. |
+1...this is the reason our son declined TJ and went to his base HS. |
Well played. |
| of course. schools look for geographic diversity, including regional diversity within a particular state. |
| By NOVA penalty, do you mean getting stuck going to a school where everybody is from NOVA? |
|
Sounds like fun...or not.

This is interesting:

Uh huh. Amazing how many people on DCUM have a kid who declined TJ... |
What I have seen at McLean HS over the past 6 years is about 10% of the class gets in to both UVA and W&M. |
It is by region, not by individual HS. It has been this way for a number of years. |
I don't mean all the student get into both -Just that about 10% get into each. |
