NWS is saying 68% chance of 6+ inches of snow throughout Monday night. I'd say that's a 100% chance of school closing.

| There is an extremely high chance of school being cancelled on Tuesday. If it's more than 6", then expect no school on Wednesday, either. Because of the mild winter, they aren't going to be shy about making that call. |

Agree re school. Disagree re feds. No way has this Administration figured out that this even would need to happen. They would prefer to have feds not show up and accrue unexcused absences so they can be reprimanded later. |

| The Cap Weather Gang makes it sound uncertain there will even be significant snow at all in DC. North of us yes but uncertain in DC. They also say on twitter flights are not that likely to be affected by mid morning. So I predict a 2 hour delay at most. Bowser is also much less likely to close schools than mayors in the past. I like that. |

| Bowser is in Texas. I think something like this happened to a previous mayor they were out of town and messed the call up (Fenty?). Anyway. I can see them delay on making a call and making everyone mad. I can see D.C. hedging their bets that it doesn't snow and then are overwhelmed by what does fall |

Does Bowser make the call herself? I would think there would be a DCPS staff person in charge. Unless the predictions change considerably between now and the middle of the night Monday, I'm certain there will be no school. Since we haven't used up any snow days and this is likely to be our only major storm, the bar is pretty low. |
