| Schools closed Tuesday |
| Schools closed Tuesday but open Wednesday (maybe with delay) because they have all day Tuesday to clean up. |
| I'm guessing DCPS out Tues, MoCo out for the rest of the week, which of course means 2 of my kids will be fighting me tooth and nail that they have to go to school while their brother doesnt. Ugh. |
| This is going to fizzle. Too warm for much snow to stick in DC. Late start Tuesday. That's it. |
It was 26 this morning. I certainly think that's is cold enough. |
+1. We will get 1.5 inches of snow in the city and a 2 hour delay. The snowline will be north of the beltway |
| 40 degrees now. Forecast to stay above freezing overnight. Recipe for a wintery mess. Won't be much accumulation in the city, but schools will close. |
Just heard - schools in NYC are closed on Tuesday. |
|
I think it's too early to call. I am hoping for a closure but I am not sure. Latest models didn't look promising for DC.
There is a person in DCPS who makes the call. But with a new chancellor, hard to tell if they will call conservatively or aggressively (either way). Add in the mayor weighing in and it's tough to know. Given the uncertainty, I wouldn't be surprised if they waited until 5 am to make the final decision. |
| I think 2 hour delay for DCPS and agree with the PP - they are going to wait until 5 am to call it. |
| Definitely just a delay. The weather report on WTOP just now sounded almost apologetic. My guess is it will be raining when we wake up tomorrow. |
| Dcps on Twitter said they would call it at 5am. |

Metrobus has announced that they are starting Tuesday on a severe snow service plan with only selected routes running. Won't this effect kids' ability to get to school or are we assuming that they will go to regular scheduling if it turns out to be not that bad?

I'm a teacher. If Metrobus goes with that schedule, I certainly won't be at school. If they go back to a normal service schedule by 10 a.m., I'll be there as soon as I can after that. |
