It's akin to labeling an innocent white girl who wants to touch your black hair because it's fascinating some sort of demonic racist. Fake race hustling and/or you're mentally ill.

And of course, that's assuming the comment even happened or happened precisely as s/he described, which it most certainly didn't.

Are you joking? That’s incredibly offensive.

Like really! WTF is wrong with PP!

A black gal on my floor at college thought my "good white hair" was pretty and wanted to touch it. I guess I should have called her a racist offensive wacko.

Meghan and Harry made the no title decision. He would have been granted one by the Queen.

Meghan did not percieve it that way and she's clearly put out.

No, according to the letters patent, the great grandchildren of the monarch are not princes. Once Charles becomes King, Archie will be a Prince.

According to those same letters Charlotte and Louis should not be princes.

Nope. In 2012, after the law was changed to eliminate the preference for males for succession to the throne, the letters patent were amended to clarify that all children of the eldest child of the Prince of Wales would be styled HRH (previously, it had been only the eldest boy). Otherwise, only the Grandchildren of the Monarch are princes & princesses. It was much discussed when Archie was born that Harry and Meghan would have to decide whether they wanted Archie to have the title when Charles becomes King. There is precedent (Anne’s children) for turning the title down, in hopes that the children will have a more “normal” life (which Harry and Meghan profess to want).

The racist comment about Archie's complexion came from Charles.

The decision to put out a new letter of patent specifically to prevent Archie (and any subsequent H&M children) from becoming Princes and Princesses came from Charles.

The decision to deny Megan the mental health support she requested came from Charles.

The decision to not provide security to Archie came from Charles.

William and Kate aren't saints here either, but make no mistake, Harry walked away because of the decisions made by his father. The "lack of support" refers to Charles.

Harry walked away because he's a man who did what he had to do to protect his wife and child. He faced this uphill battle because his own father refused to help.

And despite all that, Harry still desperately wants his father's love and approval.

You need to learn more about how this works. It’s fully within protocol for him to not be a prince upon birth.

It was fully within protocol not to do that with Charlotte and Louis.

Because they are in the direct line of succession.

They’re the spares — just like Harry.

Harry is a prince.

Archie would have had a title (Earl of Dumbarton), but not Prince until Charles ascended the throne. Then, like Eugenie and Beatice, he could be prince. Meghan is full of shit.

I thought Megan said they were going to change that letters patent, specifically so that Archie would be blocked from being a Prince when Charles became King.

Yes, that is what she said. Some people commenting here clearly didn't warch it.

Brilliant. King’s landing is definitely on fire after tonight.

I think it was William. Harry made clear it was in a conversation about what hypothetical children would look like. This tracks with previous reports that Harry was engaged by some conversation he had with William about reservations that William had about Meghan. And, inexplicably, Oprah mentioned William as she transitioned to asking Harry about the skin tone conversation.

In normal families, that's a normal question.

Neither Harry nor Meghan seemed willing to accept it as a normal question.

+100000 The race hustling crazies are grasping at straws here hoping to con gullible white people. That is a 100% normal question to ponder.

Ponder that in your mind...it is offensive.

I am a dark-skinned South Asian woman, my DH and his entire family is lily-white. When I became pregnant all the women in DH family were excited to guess what the baby would look like:would it have blue eyes with light hair and skin, brown eyes with dark skin and so on. They were genuinely happy for us and just curious. I didn’t react by immediately taking offense and yelling “racist”.

Ok I don’t know if I’m allowed to ask this here but do you all think Diana’s death was an accident

So, did they take her passport before or after she flew to NY for the bridal shower?

If they truly want a normal life why hang on to their Sussex title? They can emulate their Phillips cousins.

No F’ing way. We are not doing this. We will not bothsides this issue.
What happened to Meghan was wrong and telling a single college story (which is likely made up anyway) about your hair doesn’t excuse some royal worrying about the skin color of Meghan’s baby.

Take this bothsides crap elsewhere.

He couldn’t attack Meghan on beauty and smarts, she did her job too well as a royal, so he went for snide comments on race perhaps not realizing that things which would fly with his Norfolk buddies wouldn’t with his combat veteran brother. He was too proud and too Joffrey-like to apologize, so he ran his brother out of the Seven Kingdoms instead.

Oh dear, you really have lost your touch with reality.

White chick here. Not normal. Really ill intended. Have you ever had this discussion with a friend in a biracial relationship that was expecting? Would you ask it over lunch with work colleagues if it's so "normal"? GTFOH.

It happened because her royal protection (secret service equivalent) had been stripped. They were chased by paparazzi.

Yes. A tragic accident that was a culmination of a series of bad choices.
