My dad would call her “ridden hard and put away wet...”.

Your *dad* would say this..to you?

Ew

You two need to get your minds out of the gutter. It’s a horse term.

+1- my dad, who is 80, said “put up,” not “put away.” He was a horseman for 40+ years.

For the vast, VAST majority of us who do not have horses, one’s mind does not have to be in the gutter for that to sound vulgar.

I am not a horse person nor child of one but this really is a known saying. I have heard it countless times and knew the origin relates to not properly grooming a horse.

Also not a horse person and also have heard it countless times and knew that it referred to horsecare. But it's typically used to refer to women in a derogatory sense and is deeply misogynistic -- both because it uses a subservient domesticated animal as a metaphor for a woman, and also because it's generally used pretty intentionally to reference the double-meaning of "ride" (often used as a metaophor for sex). I've never, ever, ever, ever heard it used about a man (or a child), and have only heard it used about women where the speaker intends to convey a suggestion that the woman looks sexually easy as well as worn/tired. Like, no one would ever say it about Margaret Thatcher, even though she looked pretty worn out on many occasions.

I use it about men. Join me! For example, it could be accurately used about Trump Man Jim Jordan. If that man is the living embodiment of “rode hard and put away wet,” I do not know what is.

And I’m the PP who said Melania looked like a “hard woman” and I stand by that. There’s no trace of warmth or humanity in her face, just a granite jaw and masculine energy. I don’t know how much of that is the life she’s led and how much is surgery - she didn’t used to look so hard - but her face really only looks feminine by dint of her hair and instagram makeup.

OMG, you guys and your horse shit are SO BORING.

Has anyone seen the old Melania pics with bangs? So much prettier before she wrecked her face.

Your father is odious and repulsive.

A lot of women start looking very masculine as they age. It’s natural-doesn’t need surgery or a hard life.

It looks like she's had her extensions taken out in one of the images.

Wow, normal professional wear! At least from the back. I’m sure there are some weird frills or something.

There is a hilarious article in Vanity Fair about her delusions of grandeur. She and Jared are insane and think they have political futures. I might post it later.

But we know for a fact that Melania’s masculine face is due in part to her surgical choices.

She's been extremely silent on social media. She's only popped up once to wish Jared a Happy Birthday.

Oh good, just love public wishes of Happy Birthday when people live together. Sheesh.

(Oh, to have been a fly on the wall when the couple had a serious conversation deciding—as though it was actually a possibility—that she would be the one to ascend to the Oval Office. “It’ll be me. I’ll be the president,” we assume the first daughter said in her whisper voice, touching Jared’s face in a gentle way so as to not break it.)

Her skin and caked foundation look so terrible here. Who knew?

She looks very, very different in the picture in this article. I assume it must’ve been a previous iteration of her facial arrangement.
