Are you or anyone you know boycotting watching the Oscars?

I am shocked at how many I know refuse to watch it. I get it, I also dont' like when celebrities many who are not even educated try to stand on their soapbox preaching to the choir, but I also enjoy the show, the fashion, seeing who wins, etc..and if someone starts ranting like Meryl (ugh) I take a bathroom break or go make a snack. Not a big deal. I think these who boycott the show are as bad as the celebrities..a bunch of babies!

No lol

How dumb

I haven't watched in years. I look up the dresses later online.

The movies they pick usually suck.

They give these speeches that are so hypocritical.

When they start paying women and minorites the same as white men, recognizing exceptional minority actors at the same level as white actors, and actually doing something about their sexualization and exploitation of child actors, then Hollywood might have a teeny bit of credibility.

Well we also elected a reality TV star to the President of the United States of America, the highest office in the land (possibly world) so there's that. Hopefully those complaining about political soapboxes in Entertainment didn't also vote for the TV Cheeto - hypocrisy is worst of the worst.

I don't watch Oscars or any award show. Nothing with boycotting, I just look up online if I am interested. But, hearing DiCaprio preach about climate or Tom Hiddleston brag about people in Sudan watching his show? I have no patience for that. Technically one of them is highly educated, but it still doesn't stop him from being an idiot. Hearing half wit like DiCaprio talk about saving the planet when he is using yachts and private planes?

People still watch?

What a waste of four hours.

I never watch. Too long, boring and drawn out. In the run up to the Oscars, I do try to watch the best picture nominations but that's about it. Anything "interesting" that happens during the Oscars will be shared millions of times on social media so I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything.

I don't boycott it but I never watch it because I think it's boring.

I'm not boycotting, but I AM going to turn it off if that horrible song from the Trolls movie wins best song.

Did not vote for the orange one, but he is not a hypocrite.

I didn't realize boycotting the Oscars was a thing. I never watch because I'm not interested. I will look up the red carpet stuff the next day and watch highlights on the news.

You idiot. Choosing not to watch a TV show is hardly a boycott. No one will notice or care

Is this something the extreme right is doing? Because they don't want to hear movie stars and artists tell them that they are racist and are ruining the wonderfully diverse nature of our country?

OP, you are truly an idiot and dumb too.... I don't watch the Oscars either but the way you put your thoughts signals your narrow-mindedness.

OP, you / your friends are total idiots. Choosing to not watch a tv show isn't a boycott. Nobody will notice. No impact or difference will be made. And I bet these same fools voted for a reality star to be their president. The Oscars will go on without all of you, they will be watched by a wide audience, and no one will give a damn that a handful of people didn't tune in.
