| Who are you people? What do you do? How did you manage to get into that position? Most people I see, even high level white collar professionals hate what they do. |
| I'm an editor and like my job. DH is a reporter and likes his job. |
| I'm a legal secretary. You guys have made fun of my firm in the past (the GC dressed up as a vegetable and ran around the office), but I like it. And not just because we're going to have pie on March 14th. |
| Budget Analyst for the feds...used to be a consultant (doing the same work) and moved over.... |

Consulting (independent) and non-profit leadership. Both are mostly WAH and very deliverable-based.
My previous positions have been intensely interpersonal, and I realized I was working against my strengths (independence, analytical thinking, writing, creativity). Once I realized how much office politics, small talk, etc. was bringing me down, I searched very, very carefully for my next move. |
Funny, I need to move into something intensely interpersonal and away from the analytical thinking and independence. What do you recommend? |

| My mom loves her job. She's a teacher at a private school. |
I'm in education. The interpersonal stuff was direct service (mostly school leadership, some higher ed.). |
| Utilization Review nurse |
| speech pathologist |
| I get to teach children and make art of all kinds. It's pretty awesome. |
| I'm development director at a small non-profit. My coworkers are great. I believe in what we do. I have to hustle enough that it stays interesting, but I don't have to work ridiculous hours. Some days it does suck, but most of the time I'm happy to go to work. |
I'm a preschool teacher. I get to shape the next generation while sharing a love of music, nature, art, food, and so many other things with young children. And I'm a guy, so I get to shatter so many stereotypes at the same time.
