Getting into Wedding Shape

I need to lose 10lbs and tone up for my wedding in 5 months.

What is the best strategy/work out program I can use?

thanks!

don;t do it. your husband will always look at the pictures and say wow you looked as good back then....................
then you will start drinking more and more, using prescription drugs, he will start working late and then you will post on DCUM that he didn't get you anything for valentines day and no sex.

This is how the viscous cycle starts. gain weight then lose it after the babies come and all will be bliss.

I did the "barre body" classes at Studio Body Logic in Arlington. I'm sure any barre class would be a great option. I picked this studio for 2 reasons: 1 it's a Pilates studio, so some Pilates is incorporated into the barre classes. 2: they were the first in Arlington to offer barre classes. They call their program "barre body" I took the barre classes back in 2011/2012 before my wedding and it was a great workout. I loved Pilates for toning, but for me the barre class helped strip off some extra weight.

I've got to find a way to get back to those classes myself. Good luck with the wedding planning!

Give up drinking for the month or two prior.

I think diet is the key to weight loss. Exercise helps you tone, feel good, be/look strong. I think if you eat a diet of lean protein, lots of greens/veggies with small portions of whole grains and healthy fats, plus drink lots of water, you'll likely lose weight. Avoid alcohol, processed foods and refined sugars. Get lots of sleep. Add exercise to that - a balance of strength training and cardio (combo of low and high intensity) and you'll look good AND be healthy.

And ignore the haters above - I've been married almost 20 years, and have stayed fit and active the whole time. Do I weigh what I did on my wedding day? No, but I'm slim and look great for a nearly 50-year old woman. I did more running in my 40s than I did in my 20s and 30s.

My advice to my younger self is to develop and maintain good eating and workout habits now so they stay with you throughout your years.

Best wishes on your upcoming wedding!!
