Yep. Relatable and real. Also it seems like a good sign that she is able to open up to Tyler about hard feelings and missing her former life.

I don’t know how I feel about the Tyler mention. I’m glad he challenges her but I would love to see Jen with someone who’d spend evenings with her, curled up on the porch swing, holding her close and telling her for the millionth time how beautiful she is but it still cuts her breath. Burying his face in her hair, intoxicated by her perfume. Wakes up early every morning to make Jen her favourite coffee. Brags to everyone he knows about his stunningly beautiful and brilliant partner. He introduces her to the big wigs in his networks. Helps all her dreams come true. No other woman could capture his eyes. Laughing fits in the pasta aisle at the grocery store. Every night his warm protective body is there. Nothing can keep them separate for long. Their chemistry is undeniable, electric. When her car breaks down, he rolls up his sleeves and gets to work. When the washing machine sputters, he finds the exact parts to get. He lifts her up in every way. Does everything he can to be close because he absolutely adores her. I imagine maybe his name Theodore.

Wonder how that makes him feel? It’s been close to three years and she cannot help but dig up
the past. Her kids cannot move on until she finally lets it go and stops with her poor poor me. According to both of them the marriage was long over before it was OVER. Just a few weeks ago she was promoting dildos and whips and was all smiles. Then her absurd me course in SEX! She has made money pondering over her divorce and being that “single mom”.
Selling Able one minute and a trashy cruise the next. If this is not the most bipolar post history I don’t know what is.
Move on Jen, you’ve convinced yourself that Tyler is the love of your life so this shouldn’t be a problem.

Yeah, the Tyler mention. But even amid all sadness and support from him, she still has to link the Tyler Merritt Project. Not just Tyler. Not my boyfriend. A promotion link.

And, yes, I’m being entirely self-admittedly cynical. After hardly any interaction and fewer and fewer comments, she has over 200. So will she start posting more like this to get more traffic? Instead of honest feeling posts, will she try to post what she thinks will be honest feelings that will most connect?

I have no doubt this is absolutely her raw pain. But. She’s so needy and dependent on validation. I hope she can continue to be openly raw. Or just go away for a while and heal.

It was ... oddly specific.

She said all the kids are grown, she’s worked in the house alone this week, and this is the first time since kindergarten that spring break isn’t spring break.

So where’s Remy? And wouldn’t she have spring break?

This requires reading aloud. It gets better and better.

It still wouldn’t be the same. And maybe Remy is with dad or with friends.

Remy was in Brandon’s family wedding pic so she’s probably w him.

Did you see big sass referred to himself as sassy in his ode to himself on ig?

I came relatively late to her book/podcast world. And, even though I’m a decade older, I still found wisdom and humor in her work. I found her to be authentic and as a fellow “3” I identified with her. The problem I have with the current Jen is that, after years of revealing everything, and using those revelations to help herself and her audience learn and grow, she now doesn’t reveal the most important event in her life. It feels like a betrayal. It feels dishonest. I’m sure there is a voyeuristic element to wanting to know “what happened.” But, there also is a genuine sense that after marketing her self as super real, she is now …. not. And we don’t know what the “not” is. I would have rather she said (or says): “We are divorced. I may talk about it at some point. But, I’ve got a lot of work to do. And, I have kids. I can’t talk about me yet. And I won’t talk about my kids’ dad right now. Our family needs to process and heal and that will take a long time. So, we will go on with other things.” And she could still do good work and earn a living. But, these shadows, this hinting and teasing about the big, terrible thing that nearly destroyed her but not being honest about that terrible thing and at the same time wanting us to watch and learn as she recovers and moves on from it…. feels odd. It diminishes her and, as evidenced by the hundreds, if not thousands, of comments here, her brand.
