Is Pacey a real name? ( I can't seem to find a source outside of Dawson's Creek)

I remember reading an interview with Joshua Jackson who said he mentioned at the Dawson Creek audition that he thought Pacey was a strange name. Apparently, it was a nickname of one of the writer's friend from childhood. So it's not a "real" name.
I personally wouldn't use it. |

Agree. Don't use it. It's a name meant to be memorable for tv, like Dawson and joey for a girl, but it isn't for real life . |
