Need a relatively quiet activity to keep 20 six-year-olds occupied for about 15 minutes

Anonymous
For my son's 6th birthday party, we are throwing him a party in a private screening room at our local movie theatre and showing The Lego Batman Movie. We will have about 15 minutes before the movie starts and because of the layout of the movie theatre, we need the kids to not run wild during that 15 minutes. Any suggestions for an activity to keep them occupied (in the party room) for the 15 minutes before the movie starts?

Bring or borrow a huge bin of lego or magna tiles.

Can you have something somewhat active like musical chairs? Since they're going to have to sit still for the movie, moving around would be nice.

Legos. You can have them do teams and try to build the fastest Lego car, then race them on the tables. Or just Lego free play.

Trash cans and balled up paper. Have a shooting contest.

Not sure but that's a fun birthday party idea!

Lego ideas are really good ones.

I was going to suggest this paper folded bat.

Bewarned that the little boys may turn their papers into paper airplanes, but that's no so bad either... Just have several sheets of paper per child.

OP, I would plan for a bunch of activities, as things never entertain as long as you think or even as long as they would with a smaller group. You've gotten a lot of good ideas.

Some other ideas are Batman-themed word search, or crossword or hidden picture or similar paper-based game. Incentivize them with little prizes (sticker, an m&m or 2) for completing a task.

FYI...my boys would lose their minds if they were invited to this party. (As would I...I want to see this movie!) This is a hero-mom-making kind of idea. Very cool.

Freeze dance/jumping?
I know you said contained but if they were to jump around (in place) for part of that time it would burn off some energy before the movie.

Duck, Duck, goose?
