Time for a DC militia?

Here's a thought experiment: how do you think the rabid Second Amendment people would react if someone were to organize a militia and attempt to enlist and arm every citizen of DC to serve in it? They're planning to gut our gun control laws, so there would be few barriers.

That's sort of what the Black Panthers were about at the beginning. Open carry by black people. Drove Ronald Reagan to call for strict gun control laws. Not like that could happen in DC.

Second amendment is only for white people.

Go for it. More guns makes gun control more difficult. Second Amendment folks really don't care who has the guns. There's a reason for the huge push to broaden gun ownership and open shooting ranges in places you wouldn't expect them years ago. The idea that Second Amendment advocates only want certain groups of people to be armed is completely inaccurate.

Read about Ronald Reagan and the Black Panthers. Gun control as we know it was invented when Republicans saw black people open carrying.

The first gun control laws were passed after reconstruction-prohibiting all AA from possessing a firearm.

I always thought the way to get more onboard with actual gun control for for a couple million black people join the NRA and open carry where it's legal.

I am pro-second amendment. I am not afraid of guns. Arming everyone in DC--rich, poor, black, white--really doesn't scare me. These problems have a way of resolving on their own.

So you found the views of (1) two cops; (2) a group of cops in one city; and (3) one person who wrote a blog entry, and imported those views to all people who claim to support the Second Amendment? Seems like flawed logic to me, especially since police are often NOT Second Amendment advocates, for reasons that should be extremely obvious to anyone. The first article is also extremely flawed because it compares the actions of different cops in different locations, e.g., there is no "control group," making the article little more than an account of two unrelated anecdotes.

Too late. Scalia and the NRA already gutted them. And Congress fellated the gun manufacturers after Sandy Hook.
