| She was great. I loved her so much. I remember watching the MTM show with my mom when I was little and getting all happy, especially b/c my mom loved it. I still liked the reruns. |

Complications from diabetes. Dick Van Dyke said diabetes had taken its toll way back in October 2015. |

The Mary Tyler Moore Show was revolutionary television for its time. It's probably revolutionary for our current times too.
She was a remarkable talent. She suffered from diabetes for a long time. RIP. |

Seriously. Ugh. All our icons are going. I remember in my mid-twenties moving into a studio apartment on my own in San Francisco. I felt like I was having my own "Mary Tyler Moore" moment, where she's so happy she throws her hat in the air. It's such a shorthand for being happy with your independence. |
