If that's your standard for normal life, I don't know what to say. |

You can start by stop being obtuse. I clearly said "returned in some capacity". I didnt say returned to normal life. So what, outside of schools, has not returned in some capacity? |

Which parts of life have returned to normal? |

Ok, normal was a stretch, but almost everything has returned in some capacity. Work. Restaurants. Entertainment. Sports. Gyms. All back in some capacity. Except schools. We've permitted ALL of those. And we drag our feet on schools. Besides, schools, what hasn't returned in some capacity? |

Just because we are permitted, doesn't mean "we" should be doing them. |

That is exactly why we cannot open safely. |

But why? I know the virus is still here. But we accept that the virus is going to be here for another 18-24 months, and we agree that the status quo is not acceptable for SOME families, then what's to be done? The numbers are good right now and well within health recommendations to begin re-opening. If not now, then when? |

The numbers don't matter. But if they do, what numbers are leadership looking for to open the doors? |

The common denominator is that all those other places don't have crazy unions running around shrieking. |

Those 3 words are doing a lot of work. In fact, they're doing so much work that they can also describe schools. |

gimme a break. You know those words mean face-to-face, but with restrictions and at lower capacity. Next time I put on a CD, I'm not gonna say I went to a concert "in some capacity" |

There are no real concerts happening... all ours got canceled. |

No, the common denominator is they are all smaller scales. Schools are 500-3000 kids and a good number of the buildings are not safe and cannot be retrofitted. |

You realize the issue is that you are acting in a selfish way now putting your needs first so we cannot reopen as your unsafe behavior impacts everyone. You are back to normal and your normal is part of why the virus is spreading. If we could have stayed on lock down and stopped the spread maybe we could have safely gone back. |

You say I'm acting selfish, I say I'm doing what's right for my family. For 6 months we put the needs of everyone else first and nobody even have a passing thought to the health or who being of my family or my children. It's been all about them. Well, after seeing my children spiral into depression, I'm putting them first, not my hypothetical obese asthmatic neighbor. So yeah, we'll play soccer and baseball and softball and go to the playground. Because I'm done caring about my neighbors when they don't have the decency to do the same for us |
