It not about teachers. It's a public health and safety issue. Sacrifitng people to the economy may be okay with the GOP and its followers but most of us think that's foolish. |

How do you know that "most of us" think that's foolish? I think you're finding yourself in smaller and smaller company each day. |

Well, no Each testimony has been different.
the first few were about the abundance of studies showing the very limited risk to students. the next were emphasize the collateral damage on student physical, emotional, and mental health. And then the most recent were with ideas on how to re-open. So I like to think I haven't been repeating myself. When they limit you to only 3 minutes, you have to be concise and focused. Which means you have to defer other points to a future meeting. |

Yup, and that's why MCPS needs a survey or a census. They need to know the will of the people. |

PP, my advice (that you didn't ask for) is: find somebody else. After 6 board meetings, it doesn't matter what you're saying, the reaction is just going to be, "Oh, it's Larla X again." |

No one is named Larla. No one. |

Couldn't agree more. Fully. But for some reason, nobody wants to go on record. I've begged with friends to testify, but tbh, they are afraid that they will be labeled 'Trumpers' or that they think their children's teachers will view and think poorly of them. Its sad. Our world is so polarized that people are afraid to put their name next to a opinion as uncontroversial as "I think kids should be in school" But I'm probably going to sit the next one out. Or maybe I'll chime in on that hotly debated wi-fi brain scrambling topic that has been discussed in public testimony the last two weeks (j/k)

 Right on! |

There have been a couple pro-open protests but only 3 or 4 people showed up. |

I think it was closer to 10
But with SO much of life returned to normal, its difficult for people to make a protest at 3:00 on a workday. We shouldn't a failed rally to reflect the will of the county |

SO much of life returned to normal, huh? It's always hard to for people to make a protest at 3:00 pm on a workday, which kinda raises the question: what fools would decide that 3:00 pm on a workday was a good time to have a protest? |

This suggests that "I think kids should be in school" is not actually an uncontroversial opinion, doesn't it? |

Don't be silly, everyone on DCUM is named Larla. |

Which part is right? Virtually everything in the PP is wrong. |

Well, yeah, so much has. Outside of schools, most everything has returned in some capacity. What else hasn't? |
