there's no reason to believe that this new woman isn't intelligent. she may not be as academically accomplished as the first wife but that doesn't mean she's not smart. case in point: i have an ivy degree from one of the good ivies, and, sure, an plenty smart. but my husband - a college dropout - is actually the genius of the family.

educational achievement is highly correlated with IQ. your husband might an exception or might be something you are telling yourself. i don't care. but the relationship is strong and well documented.

yes, they also live longer, are less likely to get into accidents etc. there are plenty of reasons why evolution would select for that preference in both genders. and in fact both genders report looking for intelligent partners. btw, i went to a highly selective HS (similar to tj) and every single woman from my class is married. also, no divorces.

So why are researchers puzzled as to why hispanics who are poorer with lower educational achievement and are lower income than whites live longer than whites who earn more and are more educated.

Truly smart , academically focused men are. For one there’s the lifetime of conversations you’ll be having with your spouse, for two think of the children. Smart men (and women) would like to have smart children for many of the same reasons- interactions, child going to their alma mater, pride.
