Metropolitan DC Local Politics
I support not putting young underprepared NG members in harms way of terrorists like sitting ducks as a way to make a political point. |
So what do you propose we do with people who have put their lives in danger to work with our troops overseas as was done in the wars in Afghanistan and Vietnam? Do you think that morally speaking America owes them anything at all? The shooter, as a leader in the CIA-backed Kandahar Strike Force (Unit 03, part of Afghanistan's NDS Zero Units), conducted high-risk counterterrorism operations alongside U.S. and British Special Forces for a decade. These units focused on direct action raids against Taliban and ISIS-K targets in Kandahar province, providing critical intelligence, GPS tracking, and on-the-ground support that minimized U.S. casualties in ambushes and extractions. American combat veterans who collaborated with Zero Units have stated that Afghan partners like Lakanwal "did more to save American troops than 99.9% of the people who are doing the yelling right now," emphasizing their role in life-saving missions during the war. His asylum under Operation Allies Welcome was granted precisely because of this service, which protected U.S. personnel until the 2021 withdrawal left him targeted by the Taliban. |
They are when we invade their country and use them to protect American soldiers. They became your problem the minute you voted for Bush. |
Now wait just a minute. Bush ran as a peace candidate if you can believe that. He repudiated Clinton's nation building in Kosovo and Somalia. Then people chose the peace candidate in Obama, who invaded Syria and whacked Libya along with overthrowing the Ukrainian government. Rinse repeat. Americans pretty much always vote for the peace candidate, so its not actually on the voters. Its just some weird coincidence that no matter how people vote, we get war instead. |

So now the DC Metro Police will be actively babysitting the NG deployed to DC. That should help a lot with their ability to interdict crime.

And the next time America needs friendlies to assist us in our international adventures? Promise asylum in exchange for help, then take that asylum away - the word gets around. But you don’t care about our troops or our intelligence assets around the world. Your concern for Beckstrom and Wolfe is entirely performative so you can screech for the removals and deaths of more brown people, no matter how young and innocent they are. You’re a sick twisted piggy. |
This is the dumbest thing I have read this year. MPD doesn’t have the staff for this! |
Wouldn’t it be nice if orange assolini would send the NG home and give DC the BILLION he robbed from their budget so they could fill all the vacancies in the Metro PD??? Too logical. |
Ffs. 🤦♂️ |
I understand why they are here. The problem is that the honeymoon has inevitably worn off, but they can't just leave and go "home". I don't have any good answers. It's a multi decade problem in the making. Maybe striking a deal with another country in the region to take them- if they choose- could be an option. |
You realize that the MPD hasn’t stopped hiring for a single second, right? |
Oh lovely. That’s enticing: help US soldiers and as a reward we’ll send you to a sh-thole country. I can tell you’re a marketing genius! |
Exactly, Trump killed them by creating and inflaming the circumstances. Jesus, even some maga can probably see this. |
So how is it Biden’s fault? |
Have to make sure another CIA funded shooter doesn't kill another guardsman from a red state. So Metro Police will be guarding the National Guard. |
