Extremely rare does not equal 0. And go back a few pages, you'll read about the FEMALE shooter in 1979 |
Focus on the guns & untreated mental health issues. I don’t believe in the concept of “evil.” |
Yes that sounds really productive. He must’ve had a tainted soul. Or something like that. |
That is your opinion. I believe the question here is which came first... the chicken or the egg. Do they suffer from mental illness as a result of their transition, or was the mental illness the cause of their transition? I would argue that in the 1900's, the black population suffered a greater lack of acceptance, but they did not suffer from a higher rate of mental illness. So I am not willing to attribute their mental illness to a lack of acceptance. I believe it is much deeper and is something that was in place long before they decided to transition. |
Toddler level analysis. |
We also have many people who have committed mass murders with knives, with cars, or even with poisoning. These people are emotionally and mentally unstable. |
you mean life affirming. |
why do you think the school was conservative? It is presbytarian... |
PP here. I hear you. Its complicated. While I think a previously rare identity is becoming suspiciously common, there are also legitimate reasons to transition before the age of 18. I have a trans sibling who did not begin transitioning until they were in their 20s and they won't ever look or "pass" the way they would like because puberty unfolded. But I hear you, I think there needs to be a LOT more vetting of these kids, many of whom are mistaking straight up adolescent malaise for gender dysphoria. Banning ALL gender affirming care in the state of Tennessee is persecution. Its dangerous. It sucks. As for drag shows, I think taking your kid is dumb in the same way taking your kid to a gun show is dumb. Some parents lack judgement. Should we legislate it? No. |
Add the numbers up and tell us what the comparison is. Guns vs knives, for example. How many deaths by each in the past year? |
Seems like you are justifying the shooter’s actions. Dude, no. |
We are allowed to investigate their motives. Screaming “they’re evil!” isn’t going to do anything to prevent further violence. |
Are you trying to argue with trans people about their gender identity? If I were to argue with you that you should transition even though you feel comfortable as you are, I don’t think I’d call you rigid or inflexible. That being said, there are a lot of autistic trans people. I’m neurotypical and they definitely process things differently than I do. I don’t think that makes them not trans though. |

More restrictive gun laws work. The GOP is full of sh*t.
"More armed guards!" Armed security guard failed in Buffalo grocery store. Armed school resource officer failed in Florida. Armed police afraid to enter school in Ulvade. "Locked doors!" Failed in Tennessee. "Mental illness!" GOP blocks mental illness support bills And then this. The fact that mass shootings are clearly more likely to happen in states with less restrictive gun laws.
