What to do with car when DH is not around. I'm helpless.

How much do you rely on your husband, boyfriend or other man in your life to deal with car issues? I can't be bothered with the details of simple fixes like replacing a dead headlamp bulb. Usually, my DH will do simple stuff like this, or he wil deal with the mechanic. I am too busy and can't be bothered. I just want it taken care of. However, as usual, DH travels and sh*t starts to go wrong with the car and he is useless helping me over the phone.

Jiffy Lube.

You are incapable of taking your car to a service station, but apparently your husband is the "useless" one. Hmmmm.

1. Wait till he comes back.

2. Take it someplace.

3. Start to figure it out on your own.

DW here. I'm the mechanic for little stuff in our family. Between YouTube and the manual, it's not hard to figure out.

I would never expect my DH to do those things for me. Be an adult and deal with it yourself.

OP, why do you have to frame your question as a sexist stereotype? Are you trolling?

So you're not good with dealing with cars. It's still not that hard to take the thing to one of those places that fix cars, just like any man or woman typically does.

You aren't capable of driving it to a mechanic and saying something is wrong, can you take a look at it?

Op at the very least, make sure you get the oil changed on time. I had an ex who told me about his experience with women who don't know anything about oil changes. I was so shocked. You have to be really stupid to not know about basic car maintenance.

Call your husband to give you the address to your mechanic. Write down the auto shop name and phone number and post it on the fridge. Now call the auto shop and make an appointment to for checkup based on your schedule.
You are welcome.

Get an AP. AP can take care of the car and then you can role play how you don't have the funds to pay him and oh goodness whatever will you do to compensate him ...

You choose to be helpless. Make a different choice if it bothers you. Sounds like you're the useless one if you can't manage a very basic task like taking the car to the mechanic.

After being pissed that my parents didn't raise me to a self-sufficient human?

Sign up for AAA and find a good mechanic.

Stop being lazy and take the car to the mechanic.

AAA also offers some kind of car care class. I've always meant to take it, and to make sure my daughters take it as well. Heck, you could watch videos on youtube and learn a little something about auto maintenance.

Wow! +1,000,000.....seriously OP....either stop trolling or grow up and take the car to the dealership/service station yourself. This is basic type of crap any somewhat capable woman can do herself! You must be yet another helpless DCUM SAHM! LMAO!
