And yes this is a brag, but I want to share anonymously that I just earned the Companion Pass and I'm so excited for 2017 travel
|
| I used to do it years ago. Take a flight with a layover to hit 100 legs on united and get 1K status. |
| Congrats OP. This is one of my frivolous life goals. |
Thanks! Last minute check of my account left me so very close to the threshold so I left my family yesterday and flew all day. I have to assume it will never happen again, so planning to exhaust the benefits! |
| Congrats!!! It is the best thing ever! We got ours March this year and have it until December 2017, it feels like free travel, esp when you use the miles to book the flights! |
wait.. you actually flew all day to get the miles? where did you go? |
| The companion pass is a crazy good deal. Totally worth it - enjoy! |
| congrats! you can also get it by applying for 2 of their credit cards or transferring points from marriott. I plan on transferring in january to get the pass for a full 2 years. |
| We had the Companion pass in 2014 -- it was amazing. I went everywhere with my wife (who travels a lot for business), just because it was free. Plus we were always in A group! Enjoy! |
I'm on vacation right now, so I flew from the South to Baltimore and back. That took care of what I needed. It was actually a pretty nice day...watched movies, relaxed in the terminal and knitted, and watched movies back. |
| How in the world do you accomplish this in one year? Work travel? |
I called and asked and they said no. Do you put the credit cards in the same person name or each spouse? |
We have it because DH uses a SW credit card for his business--lots of expenses reimbursed by clients. |
No business travel. Just personal travel and points from my SW credit card. |
| I did this with Delta to get Gold. Every little bit helps when you want to fly with family. |
