The Lobster (movie with Colin Ferrell)

Has anyone seen this? I thought recently via Amazon prime and it blew my mind!

Totally loved it because it was so wacky.

We watched it the other night. Truly one of the strangest movies I've seen in a long time. But awesome.

Soooo weird and good. DH and I loved it.

So good and hilarious! Love how they can only listen to electronica music.

Did anyone else find it really slow?

It was a weird movie but really great. Colin Farrell is extremely talented.

Yes. It has some of my favorite actors and actresses in it and I love surrealism so was feeling very open to whatever happened.
I was bored by the time the blinding happened (not mentioning details or character in order not to spoil).
I lost interest, it became ludicrous, really.

I enjoyed the first half in the hotel. Wish the story could have stuck with that.

DH and I hated this movie. It is literally the worst movie we've seen this year. I agree that it was ludicrous, but not even in a good dark comedy kind of way - just trying too hard to be edgy and over-the-top. Though we do often talk about what our common trait would be so we'd be paired up.

What I loved about it was that it felt like such a statement about all the bullshit we have as part of being single or a couple.

Being single isn't really that bad-- or is it?

Being a couple, everyone expects you to have a soul mate, have a "meet-cute" story, etc. Also, hilarious how people get children.

The police state was really fascinating. We in humanity have locked people up for even stupider reasons. (Religion, nationality..)

The movie was awful. It was so disturbing. The trailer wasn't like the movie at all. The trailer made it look like a fun, quirky movie. Instead it's a disturbing movie where upsetting things happen.

I couldn't make it through the whole film. Loved the idea of turning into a dog upon the failure to fine real love but got confused when they were in the woods and infiltrating the "real" world. It was quirky cute though.

I didn't understand the ending.

HATED IT

I couldn't see myself watching something this disturbing based on the summary, and so I just read the whole spoiler summary on it. I feel satisfied without feeling disturbed...?
