He blinded his stupid self so he could go be with Rachel Weisz's character in the real world.

We hadn't heard of it before, but watched it two nights ago, solely based on this thread. Thanks DCUM!

It was absolutely bizarre and unexpectedly violent, but we stuck with it. I'm not sure I'd exactly say we "liked" it, but if you're into "out there" abstract/bizarre movies (which we usually are), go for it.

Meanwhile, my DH won my heart all over again when he turned to me after the movie, shrugged, and said, "We both like soup." (Best In Show)

Wait. Did this happen? I thought they intentionally didn't show if he did it or not.

I think you're supposed to wonder about the ending.

Loved this movie just for bring thought-provoking and funny.

I hated the movie. They do leave the end hanging, but I'm certain he blinded himself because: 1. The move is called the lobster and when he had the interview about why he wanted to be a lobster, he said because lobsters are together for life.

Sick movie, I hated it

To the people that liked this movie, what other movies did you like? Just watched The One I Love and found it entertaining.

Op who liked this movie here. To me it reminded me of Lars Von Trier movies like Breaking Away and Melancholia, ones that are dramatic and romantic and make you think about what's normal.
Anonymous
Sorry that should be "Breaking the Waves" not Breaking Away, which is an entirely different movie.
