I love seeing a beautiful home decked out for the holidays. In 2014, the average US customer spent $53 on decorations.
https://www.statista.com/statistics/479822/holiday-spending-on-decorations/ On average, how much money to do you spend on holiday decorating each year including trees, wreaths, ornaments, lights, other decor like holiday bedding or outside lights/decor etc? |
|
About $50 *on average*, because I don't buy new decor every year. |
| $0, unless we travel. We have an artificial wreath and tree, so no need to spend money. Only time I spend money now on xmas decorations is if we travel. We always buy an ornament on our travels. |
| I might buy new light strings if needed but other than that none. We have way too many decorations already! I spent a lot the first few years in our house. |
| We buy a tree, sometimes a wreath, replace some lights so $100 max. |
|
I bet $50. I didn't spend any this year, but I spent like $300 a few years ago and got a new tree.
My house is completely decorated. |
| I spend around $100 each year. We are a young family and I am building up our decoration supply. I don't expect to do this forever. |
This. Although we get our trees at Costco so we probably spend more like $80. DH decided to do outside lights this year and had to replace quite a few. |
| Something between $0 and $20. |
| $0 to $20, depending on whether we need new strings of lights. Occasionally I'll see a little something and pick it up at the after-Christmas sales. |
|
About $50 for the tree.
When we go on vacation in the summer, I might spend $10 on an ornament to remember where we visited. Everything else we have or make. I like to recycle cards and make paper chains or paper ornaments. |
| On average, between 0 and 50. We don't buy new decorations every year and usually have a fake tree. This year we spent $20. |
|
Hmmm.
Tree - $39 new lights - maybe $25 new ornaments from 2 trips we did this year - $45? gingerbread house - $15 |
|
Nothing. I bought a wreath when our oldest was 2, to decorate our front door.
We put gifts on the fireplace ledge, and cards in the dining room. We are never home for Christmas, and I'm not sentimental. |
| Sounds about right. We already own the big stuff so I usually buy a few ornaments each year and then hit the day after clearances for stuff like garland and wreaths and bows and whatnot. |
