Anyone else think Trump paid Melania to stick around instead of divorcing him?

I think so. His body language with her isn't loving. She and her son likely benefit by staying in the marriage. She's staying in NYC, while Ivanka is apparently getting an office and staff in the White House. Melania probably gets better security as his wife than as his ex.

If so, at least she's not "hanging around" to prop him up so she can run for pres down the road, a la Bill and Hill.

Did it ever occur to you that she cares for Barron and wants to be there for him and have a somewhat stable life for their 10 year old child? He's their only kid.

I don't see many genuine examples of affection by any political person or family in front of the cameras. We all know it scripted. Let's assume the political creatures we see on the tee vee have normalish emotions in the privacy of their own homes.

I actually think it's the other way around. He's supporting her rather than divorcing her, possibly because he's busy with other stuff, or for image, or maybe he's just too old to bother at this point in his life.

The best Presidential moment was GWB patting Laura on the tush. It was unscripted and looked like an affectionate pat was part of their love language.

No one knows what goes on inside anyone's marriage. But anyone who knows them knows that Bill and Hill at least have an intellectual connection and common passion for wonkish policy issues.

The only thing I'd have to say about the Trump marriage is it's hard to imagine any kind of stimulating conversation between the two of them. But to each his/her own.

It seems they don't really spend time together anyway? I've also read reports that she will stay behind in NYC while he lives at the White House (with Ivanka taking the first lady's office). Why bother getting divorced when he can sleep with as many people in Washington as he wants?
