Puppy backpack or sling

Getting a new puppy. Recommendation on a good sling type thing to carry him around? He will also be no bigger than 35 pounds so ideally something he could use long term?

Why do you need this, OP?

Puppies are usually carried in a "puppy hold" to pee outside during their housetraining, and usually in the early morning a sling would waste time and hinder the process.

In point of fact, a sling is never recommended for small dogs. That's how they get small dog syndrome: getting used to being carried around hinders their natural dog instincts and impedes behavioral training for "sit", "down", "stay" and "come", the four basic commands, as well as being trained to accept a leash and heeling during walks.

OP probably wants to carry the dog to Target and the grocery store just like all the other idiot dog owners do these days.

... because the dog will be needed for "emotional support". Bad for the dog, OP.

OP here, thanks for the feedback! Lol. Love, you guys.

Want it because we are always out and about. Want to bring the puppy around as much as I can. I understand not everywhere.

And I just love the contact and warmth.

I work full time and kids are in school so dog will be alone a lot of the day.

Anyone else?

I don't think it's a cool idea.

Please don't put your dog in a sling. Dogs love to walk.

I once saw a woman jogging with her dog in a baby sling. Couldn't believe what I was seeing....

Everything you just said makes me think a dog isn't for you.

+2. Op, you realize there's a difference between puppies and human infants, right?

Get a leash! And don't anthropomorphize the poor dog. Yuck.

Eh, dogs generally don't want to be cuddled, petted yes, but cuddled up like a baby not as much.

The way the carrier or sling positions the dog looks incredibly uncomfortable for the dog.

You really want to put your puppy on a leash as often as possible so she/he quickly learns how to walk on one.

If you are away most of the day, start interviewing pet sitters who can come twice a day at least.

Yeah, LOL love you too OP, wink wink, you're not really thinking this through from the dog's perspective, are you?
