Do you think Mike Rowe will run for office?

I've been saying for years that he is positioning himself to make a run of some kind. People really respect his intellectual positions on blue collar America, and I think he has pretty widespread appeal.

Am I crazy? Anyone else see this coming?

Has he ever come out? I guess that would be anathema to his "brand" and his loyal following among blue collar and "heartland" consumers.

Also, he lives in San Francisco. Perhaps he'd move back to Maryland to run for office? He's from Baltimore, attended Towson.

He's full of crap, so he'd be a perfect in politics.

I mean, everyone who dips their toe into the political arena is full of crap. Fair point.

I do think his appeal is broad. He gets street cred from blue-collars, and people leaning Republican like his reasoned positions on modern "American values"

Hell, I'm a Libertarian, and I like him too.

Then we can also have Cory Booker, also rumored to be gay, and in 2024, we will have 2 gay presidential nominees, one for each party.

I think he's very appealing to moderates and libertarians. The extremes have taken over both parties and its hard feeling alone in the middle! I'm a lifelong liberal and Democrat, and just today I was wondering if I've gotten too old or something. I'm very "live and let live", but the identity politicking is losing me.

I have no idea what his sexual orientation is, so I'm not speaking about Mike Rowe.

Why do you bigots think middle, blue collar America can't stand gay people? Are you aware we're in 2016? It's not 1950 any more? They also don't ride horses to school and they have indoor plumbing. Shocking, isn't it?

Because of people like Mike Pence ... the person you just put in the Vice President's office.

Because Indiana is where you had that stupid fucking bakery who was so bigoted it couldn't even sell a damn cake to a couple of lesbians.

If it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck, it's most likely a duck.

He's got my vote. And if you're going to be a shirtless world leader, at least be more charismatic than Putin.

That's one of the first admissions that DJT will be reelected in four years, which is more than likely.

You're judging an entire swath of the country based on Pence and a bakery in Indiana? Are you so blind that you don't realize that the oh-so-elite coasts are easily judged negatively by that same limited perspective?

But I suppose a bigot like you has to try to feel superior somehow. Enjoy.
